About Mzansi Mama
What started as a simple way to document my kids’ adventures, share budget-friendly activities, and post the occasional mom tip has grown into something far bigger than I ever imagined – a whole movement of blessing moms across South Africa. I’m a 32-year-old mama to a busy two-year-old and a spirited five-year-old, born and bred in Durban. For the past 13 years, I’ve worked in the marketing space, helping brands share their stories – but nothing has been more meaningful than building this community of moms.
I’ve always believed I was put on this earth to make a difference and leave an impact. When all these incredible mamas began gathering on my page, I saw the perfect opportunity to turn that belief into reality.
Motherhood has opened my eyes in ways I never expected. I have so much respect for moms – the sacrifices, the sleepless nights, the juggling act of raising little ones while still trying to hold on to yourself. But one thing I’ve often felt is the lack of a village. The stories we hear about how it “used to take a village to raise a child” don’t always match the reality of modern motherhood. That’s why I started Mzansi Mama — to create the very village so many of us need. A space filled with encouragement, laughter, support, and blessings for moms who sometimes feel unseen. Mzansi Mama isn’t just my story. It’s our story. It’s proof that when women come together, we can lift one another up, celebrate the wins, carry each other through the hard days, and remind every mama: you are never alone.
